8-1960-000 Swash Plate Assembly

8-1960-000 is a main rotor swash plate (SP) assembly designed for Mi-8, Mi-17, Mi-171 and related helicopter variants to provide collective and cyclic pitch control of the main rotor depending on azimuth position. The swash plate converts pilot control inputs into blade pitch changes, ensuring helicopter lift generation, maneuverability, and stable flight control. The 8-1960-000 swash plate was developed as a direct replacement for the earlier 8-1950-000 unit, which has been in operation since the 1980s and reached its limits in terms of service life, TBO, and maintenance efficiency. The upgraded design eliminates key drawbacks of the previous generation by offering increased reliability, extended assigned service life, reduced maintenance labor intensity, and improved operational characteristics. Batch production of the 8-1960-000 swash plate was launched in 2014 at JSC Stupino Machine Production Plant (SMPP). The assembly is approved for installation on Mi-8T, Mi-8MTV-1, Mi-17, Mi-17-1V, Mi-171, Mi-171E, Mi-8AMT, Mi-172 helicopters and their modifications.
