8M-1516-000 Upgraded Tail Drive Shaft (AMTT)

8M-1516-000 is an upgraded tail drive shaft developed as part of the modified tail transmission (AMTT) for Mi-8MTV, Mi-8AMT, Mi-17, Mi-171 and their modifications. The shaft replaces the standard 8A-1516-000 unit and features an enlarged-diameter pipe and redesigned spline couplings with optimized spline profiles. These improvements increase contact area, reduce bearing stresses, and enhance operational reliability. The grease volume in the spline coupling is increased by 1.5 times, significantly improving lubrication and service life. The upgraded tail shaft is approved for increased power transmission and extended resource indicators.
