8M-1517-000 Upgraded Tail Gearbox (AMTT)

8M-1517-000 is an upgraded tail gearbox designed for the modified tail transmission (AMTT) used on Mi-8MTV, Mi-8AMT, Mi-17, Mi-171 and derivative helicopters. The unit replaces earlier tail gearboxes 246-1517-000 and is fully interchangeable at the tail rotor interface. The gearbox incorporates bevel gears with circular spiral teeth and ground gear profiles, increasing flexural strength by 1.71 times and contact strength by 1.34 times. The use of heavy-duty bearings extends bearing durability by up to 2.2 times. The gearbox supports increased transmission power up to 1050 hp and operation with multiple approved oil types.
