ALMAZ-UPM (АЛМАЗ-УПМ) is a voice warning and audio alert system designed for installation on Mi-8, Mi-17 and Mi-171 helicopters. The unit provides automatic and command-initiated voice announcements to the flight crew and ground services in the event of emergency or abnormal operating conditions. ALMAZ-UPM supports interruption and replay of emergency messages via external control signals and incorporates built-in self-test functionality. System operability is checked automatically after power is applied, and the unit switches to normal operating mode upon completion of the self-check. The system stores up to 56 prerecorded voice messages and provides three independent audio outputs for connection to crew headsets, the intercom system (SPU), and radio communication equipment. Output signal levels are optimized for standard aviation loads, ensuring clear and reliable audio transmission across all connected channels.
