SPO-9 (СПО-9) is a static power converter used in the onboard electrical system of Mi-8, Mi-17 and Mi-171 helicopters to convert direct current into stabilized alternating current. The unit operates on a bridge-type transistor circuit with a power transformer and LC resonant circuit, generating AC output with a stabilized frequency of 400 ±8 Hz. It is used to supply AC-powered aircraft equipment requiring stable frequency and voltage.
